Ok Glass, Get Funded with Glass Collective

I don’t know a lot about money, but I do know what I read in the news.  If that’s true, then we’re all about two paychecks shy from being homeless.

So, you’re not a glasshole if you’re wondering how to come up with the cash to purchase Glass.  After all, it will likely cost the average bear $2500 to pay for the hardware and the overall travel expenses to New York or California.  Maybe people thought they wouldn’t get approved for Glass.  Maybe they ran into hard times after they applied.  Or maybe they’re keenly aware they are two paychecks away from being thrown out into the cold.

As I was launching my own Indiegogo campaign this afternoon (shameless plug), I discovered the Glass Collective.  It appears it actually just launched.

The Glass Collective is intended to fund innovation through Glass.  It’s an effort between Google VenturesKleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and Andreessen Horowitz.

“All of us involved in the Glass Collective are absolutely certain that developers are going to create thousands of ways for millions of people to use Glass and improve their lives and the world around them,” Marc Andreessen wrote in a blog post today.  “I am tickled pink.”

Who knows if you’ll catch the attention of the Big 3, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

The Glass Collective site says you should contact investors at Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz or KPCB.  Investing partners from each fund will then review startup pitches.  Independent contact information isn’t published, though Marc Andreessen left this email on his post:  [email protected].  Last words?  The Glass Collective is open for business.
